Karl A. Niggemann founded Institut für Wirtschaftsberatung (“IfW”) in 1978. Right from the very outset, the main focus was on corporate consulting, advice on the purchase and sale of companies and corporate finance. The range of services was later expanded to include advice on asset structuring and asset controlling.
The company subsequently expanded on an ongoing basis by taking on additional partners and consultants. In addition to the headquarters in Meinerzhagen, offices were opened in Berlin, Düsseldorf and Munich. There has been a subsidiary in Switzerland since the 1980s. IfW is also part of two international networks dedicated to handling cross-border projects.
Mark Niggemann has worked for IfW since 1998 and was appointed Managing Director in 2001. At that time the IfW team already consisted of 25 employees, partners and consultants. Britt Niggemann joined the family business as a partner in 2002. The succession under corporate law has been regulated since 2012.
There are currently some 30 employees, partners and consultants working for IfW.
IfW is an owner-managed consulting firm. Our partners and consultants have many years of industrial and/or consulting experience, and their mindset and approach is entrepreneurial in nature. Our clients are attended to individually and personally by a designated contact person.
Our actions are performed by expertise combined with integrity, confidentiality and reliability. We set ourselves high standards in terms of the quality of our consulting services and we provide them objectively and independently.
For more than 40 years, we have been firmly anchored in the mid-market and we are familiar with the particular characteristics of family businesses.
We do not limit ourselves to the analysis and development of concepts on paper, but are also particularly effective in practice: in partnership with our clients, we define goals and strategies and support practical implementation. Numerous client testimonials confirm that we deploy our expertise, experience, empathy and creativity to achieve the defined consulting goals.
